Error: my raycast works but I keep getting errors and I don't know why

The fun thing is that when is colliding with the tag it's supposed to collide to do x thing the error message doesn't pop out, but when it's not touching it the error appear.
EDIT: I finally fixed it doing this: 
That was what I was going to say that the statement was null inside the != statements should have returned if null. But you figured it out. :D
