I need help figuring out how to make characters follow a custom path that I could make using Unity 3D version2019.1.12f1.

Basically, I need a ghost to move following several waypoints that I would be able to customize anytime to my liking. I am doing this from scratch so I will need instructions from step 1. I would like a tutorial (if possible) to guide me through all the steps. Since I am still new, I will ask lots of questions so it will take some time for me to understand. If there is any code, it would be nice if you could write it down, thanks!
