Should I split asset variations into seperate models, or keep them all together?
I am making a market stall model which will be used multiple times in the game. However, I want some variations to add realism. For example, one selling fruit, another weapons etc.
Obviously I can (and will) also apply different textures to each instance to add further visual variation.
The question is should I create one model, with all the objects within it and then create prefabs for each variation which exclude certain parts of the model; or should I create multiple models, one for each style I want to include?
Visually, I wouldn't expect much difference, but will one be better or worse on performance or game size etc.
