Making Models Performance Friendly
Hey Guys, I have made various amounts of models for the project I have been working on... The thing is, I do not think I am taking the actions required to make the models performance friendly! What could I do to increase the performance of my project.
Here is what I have already done
I have made sure to use as little materials as possible I have also tried to keep the poly count low, but how do I check?
and also I have heard somewhere that light mapping can make your game run quick also? Is this true?
Thank you for reading, sorry for the multiple questions I am just wanting to learn how to do this efficient and professional.
Hey if you guys could link me to a website THAT WOULD BE GREAT :D CHEERS
Light$$anonymous$$aping wont work on a player, it is only used for shadows. Tip: $$anonymous$$ake textures smaller and make them bumped to add graphics onto a low poly mesh and it bring exite to players!
You can check how many polygons are in the scene when you click on the "stats" button above the game view window. This opens up a useful dialog that shows you plenty of stats on your games performance (such as frame rate etc).
