Making a football game for Android
Hi there folks, I am making a football game in which I have to achieve:
When user has to take a free kick or a penalty, he sees an arrow right ahead of the ball , and by using touch drag he can adjust the vertical and horizontal position of the directional arrow which will be the direction of the ball on which the ball is shot. (Just like we had in game FIFIA 99)
What I did:
Made a goal post, a sphere with texture etc. and can flick and throw the ball ahead.
i tried to use input.GetAxis to take drag position it works OK but not very satisfying.
I drew a ray from the football towards Z axis (drew fine), then I asked the ball to LookAt the hit point where ray is hitting and tried to AddRelativeForce to it which somehow meets the requirement but freezes the rotation of the ball making it totally unrealistic and also it does not let me reset my ball. It always has some force exerted at random axes to move the ball although I did make AddForce & AddRelative force to vector3.zero while resetting.
I used Unity UI to make an arrow but it is also not very appealing.. :(
@Graham Dunnett , @landon91235, @nipoco Please help!!
