My Unity project disappeared and was reset to default URP template
Hello,
Weird bug happened to me, I'm not sure why, but I'm scared it might happen again now...
So I've created a new project earlier, with the URP template. I start the project, delete everything I don't need, keeping only some folders and the URP pipeline presets.
I start my project, creating some scripts here and there, I test every few minutes, and every works fine. I even import a free asset that I just downloaded. Everything is running smoothly.
I decide to stop working on the project, and close Unity.
Now, a few hours later, I want to continue my project, I open the project, and I see the URP SampleScene that I've deleted previously, I open my Scripts folder: it's empty (except for the default SampleCameraController.cs) but all my own files that i've created or imported are gone.
Like nothing never happened since I've created the project from the URP template.
Everything that I've done is now gone, I don't know where, I don't know how, but even though it was small stuff that I can do again without any issue, I'm scared that if I don't know the reason it might happen again, on a bigger or more important project.
I know it can be easily solved by using a versionning system, but I'm used to create random personal projects to test some stuff, and create the git only when I know I would be continuing the project seriously.
Any idea on this myserious behaviour?
EDIT:
Here is proof of that happening (to show that I'm not dreaming, opening wrong project or anything lol). This is my Bin's history. All the template files have been deleted twice. One time when I created the project and coded all my stuff (that is now lost), and a second time a few minutes ago...
This just happened to me as well. 100% sure I saved (probably 100 times or more). Every folder I made is gone. All of the assets are gone. Something is up.

@VisionElf
I think this is what might have happened.
You were making your scripts and saving them and editing assets etc. But you forgot to save your scene and closed Unity. Then when you opened it again nothing came as nothing was saved (this has happened to me a lot of time). So next time be sure to save your scene before you close Unity or Shutdown your device. I hope this answered your question :-]
Hello, I'm part of the "Ctrl+S 5 times a second" person, I can assure you my scene was correctly saved.
Even if my scene wasn't saved properly, I'm having hard time understanding how this would affects my imported assets, the numerous scripts I have created, the materials I have created, all the different resources were inside my project, not my scene.
I also save my project (File > Save Project) usually before closing unity, and almost everytime I make small changes to prefabs or scriptable objects.
