Assets keep disappearing when opening unity.

Hi! So my assets keep disappearing every time I open unity. I don't know why or how this happens. this happens all the time and I don't know what to do. can you help me?

My guess is your hard drive (or SD card) is either damaged or write-protected.

I don't think so, I have a new hard drive so it should be working. There is a message that pops up stating "The editor layout could not be fully loaded, this can happen when the layout contains EditorWindows not available in this project UnityEditor.WindowLayout:LoadDefaultWindowPreferences()" if that's any help. Thanks in advance.

File>Save Project saves modified asset files to disk. You may want to experiment with it.
