Setting up a wave system

Okay So I would like to know how to setup a wave system and have no clue how i would go about that.

  • would like this wave system to up the number of enemies produced every wave(I have enemy spawnpoints setup as game objects)

  • would like their speed and dmg to be increased every wave.

  • would like to test for when every enemy has died(Not sure how to do this one because the gameobject will still be there even when they die)

Help with any of this would be greatly appreciated

ps: "wave system" is ambiguous as it can also refer to wind wave. The title of the other question i've linked is more to the point.
