iOS Game Questions

I'm planning on making an iOS app/game, but I was wondering what sort of scripting languages I need to use the iPhone/iPod/iPad touch screen features. I only know java and I'm not sure if that is enough. In addition, I want to make a vertical 2D game, so I know i need to use the orthographic camera but what demotions do I set the screen to make it full fit on the iPhone 5 and 4? Your help is appreciated.

EDIT: My game requires taping and sliding. Is that possible with only java?

Both of the programming languages can be used in game development. During my time of programming I haven't had a problem converting C# to JS or JS to C#, even when it came down to mobile games.

In the game window you should have a way of changing your detentions to simulate the IOS screen. However, I do recommend you make your GUI stretchable with the display so that you can port it to other screen sizes such as the iPad.

So if I know javascript, I can make a full game without knowing another language? About the screen size, I can only resize the screen in the game view or can I also change it on the builder as well so I can make my game based on the screen size?

Unity does not support Java.

You can start by looking into Javascript, C# or Boo to use unity. The touch screen features are supported by all three languages.

As for screen resolution and orientation, that can be set when you export your project for iPhone. You can set your game viewport in the editor by selecting the resolution button in the editor window just underneath the game tab.

I meant javascript XD. Yeah, so there is no way to change it under the builder only the game view tab?

You can't use Java in Unity. The options are C#, Unityscript, and Boo. You don't need an orthographic camera; perspective is fine if you want (makes things like parallax scrolling easier).
