Question by Heffalus · May 18, 2015 at 04:57 PM · c#collisionoverlapintersect

Object intersection

I have a gameobject, it has a sphere collider thats alot bigger than the model. I need to know if the model is intersecting with anything, not the sphere collider. Dunno how i would do this, using Bounds.intersects requires you to know the bounds of the other object if i know it correctly, and i dont know which object will intersect.

Colliders are used to check intersections. Use colliders. If you need 2 colliders then making a child with a collider and the script attached to it can be a solution.

You can write your Bounds.intersects in the OnTriggerEnter / OnCollisionEnter and apply it on their respective arguments, which are the objects the current on is colliding with.

in general, you could be looking for a mesh collider. note that "bounds" are quite different from what you think they are.

i say you go with barbe63's solution of having 2 colliders
