How to make a fog and render distance

Hey. Im making a horror game. I want a low render distance so the player cant see very far like minecraft and maybe a bit of fog. And also how do i dim the scene a bit. Because there is no light except the small torch the player carries. Thanks

Select you camera and adjust the far clip plane to determine how far out you can see. Adjust Ambient Light for Environmental lighting Edit> Render Settings. Render Settings have fot options as well. Don't use complete black for Ambient light, use something like

(r5, g5, b5) All set to 0 will make it look bad.

And why should that be? If you have lightsources there is no need for ambient light. Especially not if you want a dark game. And the difference between 0,0,0 and 5,5,5 is not visible.

It causes issues with shadows and other light sources. Try either one and if you see no issues go ahead and use zero. Just a tip, not a debate.

Ok...don't have pro, so I never experienced anything with shadows. Always nice to learn new things.

Go into Edit > Render Settings, turn Ambient Light down to (0,0,0) and increase the Fog to your liking.
