Changing Water Levels
The project I am involved in would like the water level on a beach scene to rise or fall depending on player actions. However, this creates visual artifacts when the position of the water layer is modified.
Are there any resources or suggestions of what to do for this?

This question is to vague, Is there z-fighting(jitter)? Is the player in the water? Is there an underwater effect? Is this a problem where the surf meets the sand? If possible it is recommended you provide a video.

Use your own model for the water and use a particle effect or similar to simulate the surf against the beach
