Question by rsud · Mar 07, 2013 at 04:50 AM · sceneupdatehowto

What scene is loaded? How to tell...

I find myself updating the wrong scene or saving over the wrong scene on a regular basis.

How should one keep track of what scene is "loaded" in the unity editor?

The current scene loaded is not displayed in the UI anywhere that I see.

I must me missing something on how to keep track of which scene is loaded in the editor.

What am I missing on how to keep track of which scene is being upadted within Unity?

hint: If you have to many scenes that looks as equals, it is good to take a second look in your use of prefabs.

Look at the top of the large window which is called the Editor

Look at the center

you should see:

Unity - YourSceneNameHere.unity - Your Project Name - Platform

Up in the title bar! As I am on Win7 aero the title bar is transparent and this text is black, against my outerspace back ground very hard to see. Thanks!

I think it would be nice if the scene tab showed the scene name. That would make it obvious.
