I need to use GIFs specifically, What's the best solution.

Ok, so my current project is meant to allow the user to put any form of media into a single slideshow and play it without issue. pngs, jpgs, mp4s, and of course gifs. However there's an obvious problem, unity can't simply display gifs. The most common advice I can find on the internet is to convert the gif into a sprite and then use it, but that doesn't solve my problem because I want the user to be able to just drop a gif into a folder and have unity handle it from there. Is there code that can help me do this? maybe something in the asset store? Anything?
