2.5D Platformer - Platorm Box Colliders Randomly Stop Colliding

So I may have found the solution to this problem but this problem rarely happens so it's hard to confirm the fix.

I'm working on a 3D Platformer with a sidescrolling camera where my levels are quite long using multiple 100x100 terrains tiled horizontally to make the ground combined with some overhanging cliff meshes and retro-style floating rock platforms, these using a combination of Box and Capsule Colliders. Some platforms also move with a script that attaches players/enemies to the moving platform correctly too.

The players and enemies use Character Controllers and Capsule Colliders with no RigidBodies and usually work fine with the terrain and platforms.

However, if a level has been playing for a while, sometimes, a random platform/cliff will stop colliding with anything meaning that players/enemies just fall through, this has happened for both non-moving and moving platforms as well as the larger cliffs!

The fix I've applied is to add a Kinematic RigidBody to every platform and cliff prefab, so far the issue hasn't returned yet, but I can't 100% confirm if this works, also is this a good idea for performance, etc and do RigidBodies include all colliders from child GameObjects too? Looking into things a bit, I realise that I should at least having Kinematic RigidBodies on all moving platforms, however this problem isn't exclusive to moving platforms.
