Dragging Sprite onto Quad stretches the sprite in a weird way.
I'm getting some kind of weird rendering when I drag a sprite onto a 3D gameObject Quad. What do you think is the problem?
I have to use a quad for my application. I can't switch to using a sprite renderer only.
First picture is the original and the second is the sprite on the quad.

I figured out the answer. I changed the texture type in the sprite's import settings to default. My sprite had a lot of empty space in it so I opened it up in gimp/photoshop and resized the canvas to the actual sprite image size. When I went back to Unity it was fixed. I hope this post helps anyone who is stuck on a similar problem.
