How about a new space dedicated to unity tutorials
I just came up with the idea of splitting "Roll a ball" and all the other tutorials off from the rest of the spaces into a separate "Unity tutorial" space. what do you guys think? I think it could help bundle these topics up for those interested.

The Forums:Teaching section is sort of for that (but the format isn't as good - can't comment; only a straight series of posts.) You post an add for one particular Tutorial and people with Qs about it post there. But a topic really has to be started by the person with the material - not supposed to start one yourself about something you found on UTbe.
(A note - when I first got here and tried the Forums, I remember technical problems and got the clear impression they were being left to rot in favour of UA. But they work pretty well now.)
I suppose there are misc Tutorial-related Qs here: Can someone write something about X? Having trouble with roll-a-ball section X? Can someone update Horse Brothers' 3.3 series for 5.5? People who watch tutorials tend to only do that - they really don't like being told to Search for specific answers in UA. So culture-wise, it makes sense to have a Tutorial Space in UA.
But I'm not sure people use Spaces now. Fix-my-error posts are on in the Main space all the time; people with 1K+ Karma either answer, leaving it there, or Close it, also leaving it there. Put another way, I don't think people with Qs about Tutorials would be able to find that Space, just like not enough find the HelpRoom now.
I agree about people not using spaces. It seems to me that users are unaware that spaces exist or what they are for.
$$anonymous$$y guess is that most people find answers by initially searching Google. If they can't find an answer, they post a new question, but without spending any time using the site or reading the FAQ/list of changes.
Regardless, it's easy to forget about spaces even for a frequent visitor. They aren't easy to find unless you know where the dropdown is. If they were more pro$$anonymous$$ent in the design/layout of the main page then I think people might use them.
Likewise, if the "Space" field on the question form didn't default to "Default", and the user had to choose a space (with a brief explanation of what each space is for), then maybe more people would post to the Help Room.
But I'm presu$$anonymous$$g UA is built on top of an existing solution that means none of that is possible.
I think any of those changes could happen. The problem is that the mods don't agree on how UA should work anymore, so there's no point for the Ad$$anonymous$$s to make any changes.
The old $$anonymous$$ods saw main UA as a real technical forum, like stackExchange. Having more "Spaces" was a way to shunt off Qs that didn't belong, without rejecting them (which caused naive users to write angry letters to Unity Co.)
Hmm, when asking a Question, forcing the user to choose a Space rather than have it default to Default could potentially make a difference (it would at least make the users think about it). $$anonymous$$ay seem like a small change but could have an impact.
Also, Spaces need to be more pro$$anonymous$$ent, right now it's so hidden. Something like:
Yeah, I think both those things would be great. Anything that makes people aware of spaces and what they are.
I'd also suggest putting a link on the sidebar that explains what Spaces are, although I'm sure most people don't ever read the links on the sidebar.
