New script is created as a backup

Hi,

when I create a new script (right click in my assets -> Create -> C# Script) it always becomes "NewBehaviourScript.cs(BACKUP)".

I've created many scripts before this way but somehow it stopped working. Restarting my computer didn't help. If I choose to create a new script through the Add Component button everything works fine.

I've found these similar questions but no answers. Question1, Question2.

Any help is welcomed, thanks
