"Mesh missing" when opening backed up project
Hi there.
I am trying to run an old project which was backed up, as i have had an SSD failure. I copied the whole project folder onto a git repo. Since the crash, i have tried to recover it. I downloaded it from git, couldn't remember which version of Unity i'd used, but opened up the "projectVersion" doc contained in the Project Settings folder, and it stated 5.6.1f1..
So i downloaded and installed that version. I then went to open up my old project by going open > backedupprojectfolder. Once in Unity, the bulk of the project appears to be there and working, except for one thing... No meshes!!
All my custom meshes seem to be missing. Are they not backed up into the prefab and meta files? Those files for the relevant objects all appear to be there in the backed up folder... Unless Unity only references the object files (obj, fbx etc), and the models were just on my old desktop and not backed up within the Unity project folder?
Very frustrating. Its not all bad, as most of the work was in the logic, which all seems to be there (i was also using Playmaker (adding that back in didnt fix it))... But what happened to the meshes??? :(
Any help please, would be much appreciated :) Thanks.
