Spawning an object with oculus controller

Hi

I want to know if its possible to spawn an object in Unity using the left hand oculus controller? I have a teleporter on the right hand controller and I want to be able to spawn a flag at the players position using the left controller.

I have tried various methods, among them is KeyPressed to place the flag (I have created a flag ) but to no avail. I hope someone can help me to create a script, so I can place the object with the controller (preferably using the raycast)
