Fade an object when player enters a trigger
So I have three objects that I need to do something with.
A player, a big trigger, and another object (any object really, or even a group of child objects). When the player is inside of the trigger , the third object should fade away. When they leave the trigger, it should fade back in.
So to put it into an actual scenario, when my character enters the house (where the inside of the house just has the large trigger) the roof or floors above it should fade away. So when the player is OUTSIDE of the house, it's nice and put together. When they're inside, the floors they're not on should disappear.
Probably is I'm horrible with scripting right now. I'm trying to get better but it's a lot to try and wrap my head around. Would someone be willing to help me make this? I know I'd need a script for the collider, and then a script for the object I want to fade. When my character enters the collider, it calls a method (method??) that's attached to the object or groups of object that I want to fade. I just have zero clue how to even get started doing this.
any and all help is apprecaited- I'm just trying to get a better grasp on this stuff
