Custom Surface Shader (from tutorial) in standard unity 3D
Hello
I'm trying to follow this tutorial: https://www.alanzucconi.com/2019/10/08/journey-sand-shader-1/
I created a new 3D project in Unity 2020.3.22f1.
Populated it with a dumb terrain and texture to facilitate trying to write the shader.
Inside Assets/Shaders did Create -> Shader - Standard Surface shader and then began modifying it to try to follow along.
At the tutorials page break to page 2, I assume everything was working for whatever version of Unity the author was working against. I believe I'm too much of an amateur to do more than guess as to what it could have been. Maybe I'm wrong in assuming it should compile, though (I did read ahead and it seemed to corroborate that).
If I implement the surf function more or less as described, all's well. Things compile and render. But that lighting function keeps producing an error saying
"Surface shader lighting model 'Journey' is missing a GI function (Journey_GI) at line 15"
My attempts to discern what that error even means have either born no fruit or been frustratingly misleading.
pls halp
