The question is answered, right answer was accepted
@Graham Dunnett ♦♦ Why was my question closed?
Just had a question closed by @Graham Dunnett ♦♦ for the reason 'duplicate question'
Graham... if you'd bothered to look through my history, you'd see I have never asked a question on this, let alone duplicated one. This is a perfect example of what happens when people not affiliated to a companies are allowed moderation authority on its website !
Am I going to get my question re-opened or do I need to repost it, which technically 'would' be duplicating it (although through no fault of my own)
:(
I close this one since you can contact the person directly.
I wasn't following the whole tutorial but needed something to familiarize myself with a GUI/Scoring system
This is where your problem is. You can't expect to just jump to the part you think you need and then come here to ask for explanation for what is explained in previous chapters.

a.) Graham Dunnett is affiliated to Unity. He works for them, in fact. That's what the two little diamonds after his name mean, btw.
b.) Duplicate doens't mean that you have asked that question in the past. It means someone has. Please search before asking a new question.
I did. If I'd have found an answer that solved my problem (or at least one I understood) I wouldn't have wasted peoples time by asking again.
Further more, Graham could have directed me in the direction of an answer he felt was suitable for my question. Simply closing a question with an abrupt reason is neither helpful or congenial to a good community bonding.
Its the actual Unity tutorial (Survival Shooter), specifically parts 5-8. I wasn't following the whole tutorial but needed something to familiarize myself with a GUI/Scoring system. $$anonymous$$ost of the stuff I found on youtube was more inline with the old GUI system and as such not much help.
