Detecting Joystick Android

Question

Hi I'm creating an app that runs on Android I'd like to be able to detect when a PS3 controller (or just any joystick) is plugged in

It would entirely depend if the joystick could actually be detected by the Android system, I know it can pick up keyboards that can plug into an android device, and I know there are some joysticks on sale for mobile phones that stick on the screen but how they interact I have no idea yet as I haven't bought one yet.

As for PS3 controller, probably no chance at all as you would need driver software to be able to use it and as far as I know, there are none for the Android OS as of yet.

Ps3 controller drivers have been on android for quite a long time :/, this seems like more of a comment than an answer
