gameobject/component missing, missing gameobject or component for ALL VERTICES
I'm a beginner at unity. Yesterday, I spent hours trying to figure out why my character wasn't animating. I think I figured it out; all the gameobjects/compnents are missing if I apply the animation to the character. For some reason, though, if I look at the animation ITSELF, nothing is missing. It's all right there! I tried everything, and yes, I have the mesh in the character. More info can be found on my Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Unity3D/comments/i7kdco/animation_makes_character_float_and_the_animation/ . I honestly don't even care about the floating at this point. And don't freaking tell me to switch it to legacy, I tried that so many times. All it does is put the previewer into a few arrow things, makes my character float, and gives me a warning message about how I need to change it to generic or humanoid because legacy animations can't be in an animation controller. Sorry for the bitchiness but I am so tired of trying to figure this out. I also installed a tutorial thing from the asset store and when I looked at it, all the vertices and angles and limbs were under the object itself. Mine has nothing like that. And could someone tell me why my player object is just a normal grey cube unlike the other project I got from the asset store? look in the reddit comments of the post to see what I mean. I'm willing to give any more details about this! Side note: The mesh does have all the vertices/limbs, so they shouldn't be missing. But they are.
what is going on man, it posted both versions of my question. Only read the first or second half, or else it'll be super repetitive.
