Question by AltSim · Dec 25, 2014 at 06:59 PM · soundfade out

Sound doesn't fade out

Heyho!

I have a strange problem with my sound. I have an object which play a sound. If I go away from the object the sound should fade out. It's a 3D sound.

I know how it works .... you have to use the volume curve at the audio source. I did it already on other objects and it worked fine. But not this time.

If I start the live mode it sounds like a 2D sound. No matter where I go and how far i go the sound doesn't fade out or fade in if I go closer.

But now the strange thing: If I change something on the audio settings at the editor (for example set the volume from 0.5 to 0.49 or the pan level) the sound suddenly plays correctly.

Is this a bug or what's up? :(

Hope you understand what I mean and you can help me^^

Try removing the audio source and adding a new one and remake all the settings

Try to change audiofile (try to use use one from another object wich works correctly), to change audiosource settings (set the linear curve with small distance values, switch on bypass, swich off all reverb zones), and test it after every change. what tests are already done?

in the end you may try "reimport all", it often helps with funny bugs...

The way that I fixed it was I changed Spatial bend from 2D to 3D.

Please don't answer questions that are almost 2 years old. Read what the OP wrote, it was a one-time bug that was fixed by reimporting the audiofile.

It's nice that you want to provide additional information, but don't do it on posts that are more than 6 months old.

If you comment or answer an old question, it will pop up on the front page of Unity Answers, making it useless to everybody viewing it.
