have you tried to delete the Library folder and re-open the project again?

First of all I don't know what Unity version you are using but the Asset Store window/tab has been removed from Unity and they don't want you using it. Use Package manager instead and select "My Assets". So that could be the problem. If that doesn't work, seems pretty drastic, but a guy I knew had a problem similar to this and deleting his library folder in his Unity game file fixed it.(If you do this it takes a while to open the game the first time). Hope any of this helped :)
