Can Unity support Video Ads through ad providers like Greystripe, Admob, etc?

Hey everyone, quick question relating to Unity support. Many of the ad providers and mediation layers out there say that they support video advertisement playback for iOS and Android, but I'm concerned as to how that sort of thing will work with Unity and whether I should be worried.

If I integrate an ad library to play a video ad between levels, will Unity support this for both iOS and Android? Will an advertisement like this just play on top of the game? Will the engine pause in the background?

I'm just doing some initial feasibilty research, and any links or info would be very helpful! I've searched around for indications that Unity supports this, or success stories on the forums, but I've come up empty-handed so far. We want to be sure it will be possible before investing any more time into it.
