Unity for 2d puzzle

I've been looking for a solid framework that would be able to run on all plateforms, iphone, android, pc, etc. So far, Unity has been the best framework with a solid community behind it. The problem is its a basic 2d puzzle game. Is unity good for just basid 2d puzzle games with possibly fancy 2d graphics but that is it ?
