Horrible editing problems on this site?
Whenever I edit text on this web site,
for me it is broken --
any special characters are changed to some sort of funky html tag (remember the 80s?)
and the logic does not follow through once you Save - it pastes in the mess to the actual final post.
QUESTION, does this happen to everyone or is it some bizarre problem i have created with an ordinary safari browser?
Feel free to TEST this by simply clicking Edit below and see your 'experience'.
Here's some special characters. You'se've "godda" féx 'bugs' == happy "users" -> more users || higher "sale price" to facebook
Again, does everyone have this problem ? Cheers!
example
void Start()
{
_GameManager = GameObject.Find("_GameManager");
}
PS -- another lesser problem at the editing stage is the "black out" of the title when typing in or editing a title. Does everyone else see that? Just click Edit here and change a letter in the title to see the problem.
The '80s didn't have HT$$anonymous$$L.... But yes, editing and stuff has been messed up for quite a while. There have been a couple of meta-questions about it, but no sign of anyone fixing the problems.
I have yet to receive an answer for my email to support@unity regarding this question :
http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/293216/is-there-any-way-to-fix-code-formatting-on-unity-a.html
I also have the question blacked out, I had assumed it was searching for similar posts when this happens, but the black-out thing is not helpful.
Ah - thanks for the info. So at least it's a known problem. I'm not hallucinating!
Just as a curiosity, I can't figure the problem pattern - some examples work, some don't.
Setting aside the actual bug, it occurred to me that sites like this where code is often posted, should include a "format this code in a standard way" option ... posters (w/ less than 15 yrs experience ;) often post horribly-formatted code, concrete-poetry style.
Another annoying $$anonymous$$or bug at the moment seems to be the "search+terms+plus+signs" nuisance when you search. And the issue where you search on Answers but it annoyingly changes the popup to "all"\
It's astonishing (in a good way) that Unity is so busy w/ growth that not one person in the organization has five $$anonymous$$utes to yell at whatever company supplies these web services to fix it.

not related to unity, but an ironic question :P,
I used the newest Firefox 15, and as you've described first I get the original problem. However when I click save, it saves the normal character instead of the ASCII character which is I believe what your refering to.
here's a "test" == 'woes' ... test again
here's a code block == worries
another test ..
void Start()
{
_GameManager = GameObject.Find("_GameManager");
}
grimm, you can see the problem in the short code example that's now in the question
@Fattie your always welcome, glad I could help, and yes I do see such problem.
