Retro Game Resolution
So, I'm playing around with making a retro game in the style of the Super Nintendo. I originally simply rendered it near the original resolution of Earthbound, but in a 16:9 aspect ratio, making the resolution be 400x225. However, doing this resulted in filtering when upscaled for fullscreen, causing everything to be blurry. I'm trying to fix this issue by making the main camera write to a render texture, and then displaying that texture on a rectangle with a separate camera that resizes to the actual window resolution. The issue is that whenever the resolution isn't an integer multiple of 400x225, the image is sort of distorted, like it makes each pixel have a decimal size, but rounds some of them down and some of them up. There definitely are enough pixels on the screen to make the enlarged pixels of the game the same size. Does anyone know of a good way to do this? Or should I tackle this completely differently?
I realized I probably should attach a screenshot. You can immediately see how the eyes are different sizes. And yes, I'm using Earthbound sprites as placeholders.
