Question by AlejandroBoss · Apr 25, 2017 at 01:21 PM · assetmodelslevelsretro

Is there a place to get N64 game levels or something for Unity that I can make my own?

I was on the internet and found this remake of Super Mario 64 in Unity and that blew me away because I loved that game and wish it could get an HD remake. What I was wondering was if there is a way to get something like the models, landscapes, levels, textures, pretty much a level from a N64 game. I could make my own, but I would like to know if there is a way to not start from the beginning. I was thinking of remaking a level from a N64 game and making it semi-HD, I'm just a beginner (sophomore in high school). I'm thinking of recreating a level from Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, or maybe even Mortal 4 Kombat. If there is a place to get something that would help me with recreating a game, please leave a link or something. I will NOT use anything that I make for profit, I will use the project to build a portfolio and get some recognition. Thanks in advance anyone who helps me, and I will be as clear as possible.

The way to get such assets would be to extract them from a N64 ROM image of the game in question. While technically not that hard to do, using those assets would be a breach of copyright (and also almost certainly expressly prohibited by the EULA), so you're not going to get instructions on how to do it here...
