Question by 99andy · Aug 14, 2013 at 10:37 AM · androiddevices

Why can't I start a simple quiz game?

I have been creating a simple quiz game for Android and I have there three scenes. When I start the game on my tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab., all is right, but when I start it on the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S, it loads the first scene (main menu) and after click the play button, I wait for a moment and then it close the application. I think, it is a simple game, no 3D graphics, only a few textures and text. So I realy do not understand, why I can't start it on my smartphone.

Is there a way, where I can find which devices are support? Because, if i can't start this simple game on Samsung Galaxy S (where I can play 3D games, ..) then the game won't start on many others devices and it is problem.

Please, how can I do it possible for more devices? Where can I set, which devices are support (or find)? And please, when I published it to google play and some devices aren't support, will the application show them?

Thanks for any help.

Your game crashes because of some exception in your code. Use adb logcat and post a new question with the details.

Unity 4.2? Select OpenGL 2 ins$$anonymous$$d of 3 and try reducing Project Quality settings to 'Good'.

Apparently Google Play only offers apps that are compatible with your phone if you search using your phone, I think I read.

Some Samsung Tabs, it seems, support DX11 !!!

Disable dx11 support in Unity

But on my tablet it starts right. Without any problems. Code is right, but I don't understand, why I can't start it on my mobile.

I have tried changed Quality settings to 'Fastest'. Then, it worked, but I have been creating more code and now, when I try launched it on mobile, the problem is same. $$anonymous$$ain menu I can start, but after cliced to play button, It should show GameScene, but after a moment, the game crash. But on my computer, all is right (logs too, no errors). I have Unity 4.0 and OpenGL set to OpenGL ES 1.x. As I said before, I really don't understand, why it crashes. It is a simple quiz game, only questions, background and a few buttons. It is all, no 3D graphics and so. Please, what can be wrong or how can I find the mistake? I have given logs too, I don't know what I should do. I again have used Samsung Galaxy S.
