Looking for a more efficient method of saving for mobile game.
Hi there,
I'm wondering if anybody could help me with serialisation better suited and more reliable for my mobile game.
Right now, I'm using BinaryFormatters and saving all variables every time the user saves the game.
This means that for every variable I add, I have to add 3-4 extra lines of code to make sure that they are saved correctly and then able to be read again.
This isn't really efficient for the game that I have, there are many features that I will be adding in the future that will mean a ton more work for each variable. Not only this, but I am worried about save/load times growing significantly.
Another problem is, my game has over 200,000 active users. I will need to implement this new save system without rendering any of their current saves useless.
I plan to add inventory systems, and I serialisation of Monobehaviours could come in handy too.
I am open to buying assets if that's the easiest way to go about it.
Let me know if there's anything like this out there that I can look into, I'd appreciate the help, thanks!
