"2d object" missing in create context menu

Question

Hello. My problem is simple. There is no "2D Object" option in my right click menu anymore. Any ideas what happened?

install this PackageManager/2D Sprite

Window > Package Manager
Select the Unity Registry
Search for 2D Sprite and select the package called '2D Sprite'
Install it and now it will show up

Found out the problem, if you were originally using 3D for your scene, none of the 2d assest were imported to your game when being created. You will have to manually add them through package manager.
