Asset store does not load in browser

So i wanted to get into game dev recently, and literally feel like i have no other choice than to use Unreal engine for a simple reason: The unity asset store is simply not accessible for me. Whenever i try to load the website (in any browser, cleared cache, incognito etc.) it just doesnt load any assets, only plain unstyled html and many loading sources are getting blocked. This is frustrating as i wanted to get a feel for the asset market first, and i have not been able to solve it so far.

The sad part about this is that this seems to be a problem that occurs quite frequently according to the same question being asked from 2016 till now on various sites. I dont understand what is so difficult about making a website that.... loads. Unreal marketplace seems to have mastered that forbidden technique.

I am in a university where the internet is connected through the universities VPN, so while that could play a role i obviously have no problem with any other website ever (and as i said, not with unreal's asset site store either). How can this be such a persistent problem?
