Auto Refresh in Preferences keeps disabling itself

Something that just seemingly started happening out of nowhere. Auto Refresh keeps disabling itself in the preferences. It's getting frustrating when I'm making script changes and keep having to check that it is enabled to I can see my changes take effect.

Would anyone know what could be causing this?
