2D Vertical Scrolling phone game

Hello all!

I'm brand new to unity, and all I really want out of it is to make a fishing game with a title screen, and upgrades.

Once you start, the hook starts falling downwards through a map. The only control you have is if you press the screen, you slow the hook down.

Fish swim across the screen left to right. different fish spawn at different depths.

I have watched many tutorials for unity 2D games, but none seem to capture what I'm trying to do. Not that I don't want to learn, I just feel that what I'm trying to accomplish is much more simple than these tutorials are covering.

Any tips or guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!
