Question by toddisarockstar · Jun 18, 2017 at 12:18 AM · answers

question/forum users that dont return to posts.

So I'm sure the regulars and moderators here are aware of many new people posting questions here that never take the time to return to. I believe the knowledgeable developers time to answer questions is valuable and should be prioritized for people that take the time to return to collect the answers from them!! is anyone with me? what is the best way to contact the unity website administrators for a recommendation? i would like to see a scoring system for users that don't login or check after a posting a question. Any recommendations how the problem might be solved in my complaint?

For good Qs, it doesn't matter if the original poster ever replies or even accepts an answer.

If you read the FAQ, Unity Answers is for Qs that will help other people. A good Q might be about a new API command that isn't documented very well. A lot other people will have that same Q, will Search, and will be helped by the answers. If you keep reading the FAQ, we used to reject Qs about 1-on-1 help. Reading the whole FAQ should give an idea why.

Two years ago, we created the HelpRoom as a place to move non-helpful questions. It's easier to move them there than it is to explain why their Q was rejected, and doesn't hurt feelings as much. If you read the sticky at the top of the HelpRoom space, it explains how it's just a dumping ground to keep the real site clean (which is Default UA.)

Of course, you may have noticed we don't actually do that. Most of the old mods had quit by then and now UA is full of debugging Qs and other stuff that shouldn't be there. Newer moderators like you have been seeing that and don't even know how the system should work (not blaming you.) Earlier this week we even partly gave up and got rid of the moderation queue. It's suppose to help us sort good Q's from bad ones, but for the last year we weren't doing that.

When the moderators discuss fixes to the site, which is very rare, it's about how to get back to having good Qs. Some want to go back to rejecting 1-on-1 Qs and get rid of the HelpRoom. Having rules for HelpRoom Qs is has never even come up.
