Kick with Kinect

Hi guys, I'm doing a penalty style game using Kinect, actually I'm using the position of the head and shoulders to know if I kick to the left, middle or right. I want to know if has a better way to do that because sometimes it's going wrong.

My idea is to know if the movement of the leg is going to the left, center or right, but I don't have any idea how to calculate that, what can I use considering that to kick to the center must have a "looseness" ?

Hrm I just went and ordered a kinect today so I cant test this, surely you need to leave the aiming down to where the foot strikes the ball, if your character has a collider on his feet, put a collider on the ball and then get the hit point and apply force from there?

That way its up to players to get a feel for the kinect interface?

If you've got a kinect animations are EASY! Hence why I'm grabbing one, can't wait for the new one though.

hi, I know this is old thread but i want to know How could you add force and direction to the ball upon kick? Is it happens automatically based on player transformations or you need to do it separately..?

Please help.. Any kind of help is appreciated....
