Screen Touch not Registering in AR Foundation

I've followed several tutorials on starting up with AR Foundation and I tried to build the simplest thing I can. I managed to get plane detection and a marker that is projected on the plane from the center of the screen. But I can't get touch input. I even tried just an empty object with a single behaviour that just tells me if touches > 0 in the update loop. Still nothing.

What am I missing? Help.
