Translucent sprites appear solid

So, I'm currently using the 2d render pipeline and for some reason, any translucent sprite I introduce (Even glowy parts of a sprite) Just appear solid. I know I can change the transparency using the sprite editor, but is there a reason that this is happening? I can't use the sprite editor to adjust tiny transparent parts of sprites
