Is unity project & code "safe" in XCode project or is it decompilable?

I'm in a setup in which I create a iOS Game in unity and my agreement with the client does not include sourcecode as a deliverable.

My question is now, if I build the XCode project - can I send this to my client without thereby providing him the sourcecode too? When I build a unity to iOS project - what exactly happens with the project assets and the sourcecode? Are these things safe in the XCode project or is it trivial to decompile an editable unity project from it?

All the game script code is converted into assembly code, so is "relatively" safe. The art assets are in a unity format which is not documented anywhere, so is not trivially convertable back into a Unity project.

Just to clarify this - I'm talking about the generated XCode project, not about the compiled IPA. So you say all the code is already converted to assembly when the XCode Project is created? I read somewhere that depending on some settings unity will pack the plain sourcecode with the compiled project. What do I need to look out for?

It can be decompiled using an assembly decompiler, very easy to use. Hint: Ilspy ;) its not very secured to send the Xcode project, you should send the application ready to launch if you want to protect your code
