How can I use UI Image as a button?

Back when GUITexture was still valid, I was able to have 2 buttons working simultaneously together with touch functions. Now that it's obsolete, using UIButton with event triggers seems to work well, but this acts as a pointer(and you can only have one pointer at a time)that doesn't work as I desired. They will cancel either one when there's another touch on the screen. How can I get UIImages to work like the GUITextures before with touches or have my event triggers work separately from each other at the same time?
