Looking for a model of steering wheel that is compatible with Unity

I attempted to use my ThrustMaster Force Feedback Wheel with Unity, however it has proven incompatible when reading values from the x-axis. Has anyone had definite success using a steering wheel controller in Unity (preferably without an input extension like ReWired)? If so, which model? Thanks.
