taking an object out of my hand with the other

hello all, i have tried to find a setting in the steam VR scripts that allow me to turn this function off, however i have been unsuccessful. this is annoying because i'm trying to implement a cockback animation that involves a trigger of the player gripping at the top of the gun, however this then makes the gun swap hands. does anyone know how to stop this?

i have an interactable component and a modal Throwable component on my gun.
