Animator shrinking gameObject scale

Hi guys... I've rub into a slight problem . My player has an animator attached to it but whenever I set the players parent to null so that I can parent it to another gameobject, it seems to shrink...

When I disable the animator it doesn't shrink... All this happens when I'm not even putting the animation component to use
