Is it possible to Mix/Combine Animation in 2D Characters ?

Hi, I'm very newbie in game-creator and wanna ask something (perhaps this is laughable question, Im sorry)

Say, if i have walk cycle and reload animation separate in my 2D character. Can i mix or combine them up just like combine animation in 3D character ?

I just want to make sure. Pardon my newbie's skill as a game maker
