Unity Documentation referencing a non-existent functionality?

Hello,

The lightmapping documentation, specifies a way to visualize UV Charting for objects.

https://docs.unity3d.com/2021.2/Documentation/Manual/LightingGiUvs.html

Specifically: Visualising real-time UVs To see the precomputed real-time GI UVs:

-Select a GameObject with a Mesh Renderer in your Scene -Open the Lighting window and select the Object tab -In the Preview area, select Charting from the drop-down. ========= But this seems to not exist any more? Or am I missing something? Is it possible to access this preview mode in a different way? How can I notify Unity that their documentation is out of date?

This is all about global illumination. Have you actually enabled GI in the lighting settings? If so which mode have you enabled? Realtime GI which is in the Realtime Lighting section under the Scene tab in the Lighting manager, or Baked GI which is under the Mixed Lighting section in the same menu.

In order to see realtime lightmaps of course you have to enable realtime global illumination.

GI UV Charts

Of course in order to see the lightmap generated for an object, you have to set the object to actually use GI and lightmaps and you have to actually generate the lightmaps (or check the auto generate checkbox) in the Lighting window. You have to check the Contribute to GI option in the renderer of the object.

I barely used any lighting in the past (I'm a pure coder). I just fired up Unity and looked around for about a minute to figure that out.

Eh, Unity Answers. Such Help sometimes...

I'm pointing out a missing feature, referenced in the Documentation. When using the documentation, I don't want to "poke-around", I want concise information.

What is more, seems my editor bugged out, as when selecting objects, it did not point to the lightmap it's actually on (a re-set seems to have worked?).

For anyone having a similar issue, I actually did some "pokeing-around", so you don't have to and the functionality can be found on the below pictures:

The documentation issue still stands. It's referencing an option not present any longer...pls fix?
