Question by felixmann · Aug 24, 2017 at 02:37 AM · apimonoversionunity 5.1.1

Unity does not support have the `ObservableCollection` class?

I was hoping to use the ObservableCollection class, but it looks like Unity does not have it.

Is there an alternative class provided by Unity or are you just expected to implement your own?

Hm, I only seem to have "$$anonymous$$ono 2x" as an option :/ Do I need a paid version of Unity for .NET 4.6? $$anonymous$$y Unity version is 5.6.1f1, and seems to be up to date.

The Update detection always has been "buggy". I also still use 5.6.1f1 but i know that there are several newer versions: (5.6.2, 5.6.3, 5.6.4, 5.6.5, 2017.1, 2017.2, 2017.3) and some $$anonymous$$or versions in between. Also there are already some 2018 beta versions.

You may want to check the Release Notes from time to time. There's a version selection dropdown on the right. Also check the Roadmap for the latest versions. It lists the main changes. For example "2017.3" finally gives us 32 bit index buffers. Also assembly definition files will come in handy in large projects

It’s available for all active users of Unity 2017 versions. Did you tried it within a new project?

Ah I see, thanks guys! I'll try and update my Unity version and see where I end up :)
